Renewing your Illinois driver’s license just got easier. Our office is now able to perform the required visual field testing for Illinois driver’s license renewals — no certificate or separate DMV vision screening needed. With the addition of our new Radius XR technology, we can now complete the vision testing portion of the Illinois driver’s license exam right here in our office.
If you’ve failed the vision portion of your DMV screening, you’ll be given a form by the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to have completed by an eye doctor. Our office can take care of that for you through a comprehensive eye exam and a visual field test to determine whether your vision meets Illinois’ safety standards for driving.

The exam typically takes about an hour and a half and includes two parts:
· A comprehensive eye exam with dilation
· A 20-minute visual field test using the Radius XR
Because our office space is limited, these portions may be performed separately as scheduling allows.
If your results show that your vision meets state standards, we’ll complete your form so you can return it to the DMV (Secretary of State’s office). Please note that results are not submitted electronically — you’ll need to bring the completed paperwork back to the DMV yourself.

Even if your vision qualifies for driving, regular comprehensive eye exams are essential for maintaining long-term eye health and safe driving. Routine visits help detect early signs of glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other conditions that could impact your vision and daily activities.
We understand how important it is to keep your driver’s license current — and your eyes healthy. With Radius XR technology, we can perform the full visual field testing and comprehensive evaluation you need, all in one place. Schedule your Illinois Driver’s License Vision Exam today for a complete, stress-free experience from start to finish.
